GIDA's primary concern is to ensure safe and professional diving around the Gili islands. Our members strictly adhere to the standards of safe scuba practices set by their respective training organisation (PADI / SSI).
Scuba diving safety is our priority. Our members' crews, from the boat crew to dive guides, instructors and centre managers, are extensively trained. Dive centre boats are well-equipped for emergencies, and our captains adhere to safe boating practices to ensure diver safety and responsible mooring practices. We have established emergency procedures with the full support of all GIDA members on Gili Trawangan to assist in the case of an emergency.
The preservation of our reefs is of utmost importance to us, and we strive to nurture our underwater paradise for the scuba diving community. We encourage and educate our guests on responsible diving practices and enforce a "no touch, no tease, no take" policy. We monitor and contribute to the continued conservation of the Gilis' Marine Protected Area through the Gili Eco Trust, for which all divers are required to pay a once-off reef tax of Rp50,000.
Maintain high standards of service and safety amongst marine operators.
Strive for culturally-respectful enrichment as the island continues to develop.
Encourage environmentally-responsible growth and support conservation efforts.
